Woody Keen (left) received the Bill Devendorf award in appreciation for many years of outstanding dedication and distinguished volunteer service to DuPont State Forest. David Brown Forest Supervisor (right) presented the award last week.

“There are a small number of people that played key roles in the state getting Triple, High, and Bridal Veil Falls,” Brown said, “ and Woody Keen was one of them. Keen was a charter member of the Friends of DuPont Forest Board of Directors, and continues to serve on the DSF Advisory Committee.

During the past three years, Keen volunteered over 1,000 hours to improve the trail system, and has directed numerous trail building workshops and projects on the forest. Bill Devendorf (center), the former Volunteer Caretaker at DSF for whom the award is named, was on hand to assist with the presentation.
